What To Eat After A Workout to Burn Fat, Build Lean Muscle & Recover Fast.

If weight loss and building lean muscle is a goal, focus on foods and snacks that give you the right balance of macronutrients - protein, fiber, a small amount of healthy fats and complex carbs. Avoid or reduce refined carbs and refined sugars, which can be hidden in breads and cereals, pizza, takeaways, burgers and sugary drinks.

Hydration

Keep hydrated before, during and after your workout with water or a protein shake.

Eggs and Avocado on Whole Wheat Toast

Two hard boiled eggs or an omelette with half an Avocado on 100% whole wheat toast. This combination has all the benefits of protein, healthy fats, fiber and complex carbs.

Lean Protein and Vegetables

Protein sources like lean meat or salmon will help to build muscle post workout, combined with vegetables which are high in fiber. A good option if you're working out before dinner.

A protein shake can be ideal if you want a high dose of protein to build muscle. A protein shake as a meal replacement is also portable so you're not having to be at home post workout!

The combination of protein and complex carbs will build muscle and replace energy lost through the workout.

Greek Yogurt or cheese combined with fruit like grapefruit can help build muscle and also burn fat.

Dried Nuts

Nuts are high in protein and healthy fats and make a good post workout snack when you need something light.
